The Presidential Council (PC) has extended the national lockdown order for another ten days, as coronavirus cases in the country continue to rise.

According to the decree issued on Wednesday, the curfew hours will run from 8 pm until 6 am of the next day, with a 24-hour curfew on Friday and Saturday in the western region, while in the southern part of the country, the total lockdown will continue seven days a week.

The decision also stipulates the complete prevention of movement between cities and the continuing closure of mosques. Social, religious, and national gatherings remain to be banned, while shops that do not provide basic services, such as clothing and shoe stores, in addition to restaurants will be allowed to practice their activities through the delivery service only.

The curfew decision also excluded the occupational groups and those running small business, as it is possible for them to practice the social distancing, as stated in the decree.

The PC urged citizens to adhere to these measures for their safety, warning that strict measures will be taken against the violators.
