Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah inaugurated a new passenger terminal at Mitiga International Airport on Tuesday as part of the airport's extensive expansion and development project.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dbeibah expressed his satisfaction with the completion of the new terminal, emphasizing the government's commitment to improving airport facilities across Libya.
He highlighted that the government's ongoing focus on construction and development remains a priority in various sectors.
The new terminal spans over 23,000 square meters, with the addition of approximately 13,000 square meters to the existing structure. The airport is equipped to handle around three million passengers annually.
Key features include 30 check-in counters, a duty-free market, cafes, shops, a business lounge, a baggage sorting system, and modern electronic services.
