Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has criticized the Greek Foreign Minister's action after the latter refused to disembark from his plane at the Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli, saying that the move showed disrespect towards Libya and its sovereignty.

Dbeibah met with FM Najla Al-Manqoush to follow up on the incident and underscored that he would not allow such actions towards the Libyan state and its sovereignty as the diplomatic relationship with Greece should be based on mutual respect.

For her part, FM Al-Mangoush said that the Greek minister's action was an undiplomatic action for "unknown and unacceptable reasons."

"No country should be allowed to deal with Libya without due respect to its sovereignty and prestige," Al-Manqoush said, indicating that the Foreign Ministry has summoned the Libyan ambassador to Greece to consult about these developments, and the Greek charge d'affaires in Libya to clarify the background to the incident.
