Algeria has announced that a meeting for the leaders of Libyan political parties and other political activists is to take place in the capital, Algiers today.

The Minister of Maghreb, Arab League and African Affairs, Abdelkader Messahel, indicated that the meeting is going to be held on June 03-04 in the Algerian capital as part of the UN-sponsored Libyan dialogue tracks, adding that apart from discussing the national unity government obstacles, the attendees are to discuss the security measures and developments in the Libyan environment.

He pointed out that taking part in this third meeting would be highly significant since some new Libyan influential actors from the ground will join this new round.

He reaffirmed that all efforts must be united and all political lines must be under one coordination, which would push them closer to reaching the formation of a national unity government that can handle the critical and urgent mission of fighting terrorism and create a healthy environment that would pave the way for a democratic and sovereign country.
