Some Libyan political parties have warned against the practices of some international organizations operating in Libya and their dangerous beliefs and goals - "such as spreading atheism, homosexuality, etc."

This came in a joint statement issued on Saturday regarding a briefing by the Deputy SRSC and Deputy Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Koury, and the practices of some foreign organizations in Libya.

"We are tired of these repeated briefings, since the assignment of the United Nations support mission to Libya, which does not carry any political path that can contribute to resolving the political and security conflict between Libyan parties, and the Libyan people must have their say to save the country.” The statement said.

It reaffirmed that the UN mission had once again neglected to mention political parties and their role, and that the mission - with its weak staff - could not work at the level of the Libyan conflict, while some of its employees had contributed to weakening the mission’s credibility and impartiality by forming personal relationships with Libyan parties, which contradicts their role.

The statement indicated that some foreign organizations - operating under the name of civil society organizations - have begun to exercise suspicious political roles according to certain agendas, which is considered negative interference in Libyan political affairs. At the conclusion of their statement, the parties called on "loyal patriots to take a serious stand to save the nation, build democracy, and achieve stability."
