The Presidential Council called on the 6+6 Joint Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) and High Council of State (HCS) to continue to address controversial points to reach simultaneous parliamentary and presidential elections before the end of the year.

The Presidential Council hailed the results reached by the committee after its meetings ended in Bouznika, Morocco, calling for the continuation of its work within the framework of its constitutional competence to prepare electoral laws and references governing the roadmap for the remainder of the preliminary stage.

It also called on all relevant institutions and national forces to "conduct extensive consultations with the participation of the UNSMIL, aimed at ensuring the continuation of the current stability, and creating the appropriate conditions for elections that exclude nobody and guarantee acceptance of the results."

The 6+6 joint committee - which is specialized in preparing electoral laws - announced in Bouznika, Morocco, the postponement of signing the final agreement on the electoral law until they are formally signed by the HoR Speaker and HCS Head.

Meanwhile, circulating news said that disagreements over the conditions for running for the presidential elections prevented the Speaker of the HoR and the Head of the HCS from signing the agreement after they were scheduled to attend the press conference at the conclusion of the committee meetings.
