The UN-proposed government's Presidential Council (PC) announced Wednesday the start of the return of Tripoli IDPs to their houses as a first step in a series of others aiming at returning all IDPS to their cities and districts, according to the PC's media office.

This announcement came in a joint statement read by the Minister of the Displaced Affairs Yusif Abu Bakr in the presence of the Interior Minister, Aref Al-Khoja and Janzour Mayor Faraj Aban as well as Hay Al-Andalus Mayor Najim Al-Deen Hamza, the Head of the High Committee for IDPs Return and the Head of the High Council of Reconciliation in Tripoli.

"IDPs from Hay Al-Andalus will be the first to start returning to their houses on July 15." The statement says.

The statement added that IDPs should contact the High Committee for IDPs Return to facilitate their comeback in coordination with relevant authorities and municipalities.

"All municipalities, civil societies and others must cooperate and support such these programs that help establish reconciliation and stabilization in the society." The statement adds.

The PC vowed in last Ramadan to secure the return of the Tripoli IDPs to their houses before the month ended, but failed to do so.

While an initiative by Janzour municipality succeeded in the same stream, allowing the IDPs from the municipality to return to their houses and reconcile with the society, which was hailed by the PC in Wednesday's statement.
