The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, welcomed the Security Council statement on the situation in Libya, and renewed call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives to reconsider his decision to unilaterally suspend the political agreement.
Menfi expressed his acceptance of the invitation of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to participate in a national dialogue to address the issue of the Central Bank, within the framework of sovereign positions and in accordance with Article Four, paragraphs (5 and 7) of the roadmap issued by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
Menfi reaffirmed his support for continuing to work on what was accomplished by the 6+6 Committee, believing that resorting to the option of consulting the people on the remaining controversial articles represented a means of reaching a national consensus, with the aim of holding general elections in accordance with these consensus before February 17, 2025
