A group of protesters staged a stand in front of the Parliament headquarters in Tripoli Wednesday to demand the Parliament and the High Council of State withdraw from the political scene.

The protesters expressed their rejection of any new transitional stages after the parliament decided to choose a new government on Thursday.

They raised slogans demanding to go to elections and clarify the nature of the force majeure announced by the speaker of Tobruk-based Parliament, Aqila Saleh, and how to end it.

Other protesters sharing the same demands protested in Martyrs Square in central Tripoli.

On Tuesday night, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah delivered a speech in which he called on the Libyan people to take to the streets and express their rejection of what he called "the political class holding to power" and say no to any new transitional stages before organizing elections.
