Al-Araby Al-Jadeed website said that the Egyptian government has recently taken several steps in terms of relations with both Libya and Turkey, the most important of which is changing those responsible for managing the Libyan crisis.

Arab and other Libyan sources revealed details of contacts and procedures that took place in the past few days to contain the deterioration of relations between Egypt and the Government of National Unity headed by Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, following the withdrawal of the Egyptian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry from the meetings of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers, in objection to the appointment of the Foreign Minister in Dbeibah's government, Najla Al-Mangoush, as chairwoman of the new session of the Council.

The website cited a Libyan official as saying that Cairo recently sent messages to Dbeibah through Libyan and Arab mediators, bearing indications of calm and stoppage of diplomatic escalation with his government until a new unified vision is agreed upon with the international and regional powers linked to the Libyan situation.

The official also explained that the Egyptian step came in the wake of an undeclared procedure that saw Dbeibah make instructions to stop the measures for the entry of a large group of Egyptian workers into Libya, which was inked within an agreement between the Egyptian and Libyan Ministries of Labor.

According to the official, Dbeibah's instructions did not only include workers, which is of great importance to Egypt, but also moved to the file of Egyptian agricultural exports to Libya. The official adeed that in the past few days, Dbeibah's government refused to receive more than one shipment coming from Egypt, claiming that they were not valid and didn't conform to standards. Moreover, the Food and Drug Control Center in Libya rejected several shipments from Egypt under various claims.

The Libyan official reiterated that Dbeibah realized the importance of the economic file for Egypt at the present time, which is what prompted him to pressure Cairo with it, in order to neutralize its position regarding his government, at least during the current period, as he relies on the current events and period to push for maintaining his government's power until elections are held.

The report said that this week had also witnessed a remarkable Egyptian development towards Dbeibah's government, as Egypt warmly welcomed the Minister of Labor, Ali Al-Abed.

The website cited a well-informed diplomat as saying that the changes are evident by the re-assignment of Undersecretary of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Amro Nazmi, to take charge of the Libyan file, and this carries a very clear message to Dbeibah's government, regarding the change in the Egyptian position. This is coupled with assigning the responsibility of the Libya and Turkey files to one person, which shows the link between the two files from an Egyptian point of view, the two files are closely related.
