Al-Burki and Ganiewa armed brigades announced late on Friday a tentative ceasefire deal in Abu Salim neighborhood following 2 days of heavy fighting.

Both groups agreed to allow a neutral force to be deployed in the neighborhood to separate the conflicting sides.

According to the agreement, Al-Burki armed brigade would pull out of the former Anti-Terrorism HQs and relocate in the Military Police HQs, while Ganiewa armed brigade would pull forces to its main Barracks.

“A team of observers would be formed to monitor the ceasefire and identify the group that violates the ceasefire,” the agreement reads.

Clashes between Al-Burki and Ganiewa armed brigades broke out on Thursday and continued until Friday evening.
