Foreign military intervention in Libya is rejected under whatever pretext it would come, The Foreign Minister of the Salvation Government, Ali Abu Zakouk stated.

FM Abu Zakouk refuted the news that said he contacted Italian media outlets about Italy’s role in leading an international force against IS militias in Libya, stressing that he had never offered Italy such a leadership role.

“We are able to fight those terrorists off our territories and if the international powers wanted to give us a hand, then they must coordinate with us first because we do not want any foreign troops to make the Libyan soil their stomping ground”, He indicated.

Formerly, the Italian news agency, AKI, had reported Abu Zakouk as telling Corriere della Sera newspaper: “It’s very good for us as Libyans to see Italy handling the leadership of the international military operation against IS in Libya.”
