The Tripoli-based salvation government chaired by Khalifa Al-Ghawiel said it has retaken three government buildings in Tripoli, in another blow to the fragile UN-proposed government of Fayaz Sirraj.
Prime minister Khalifa Al-Ghawiel announced in a press conference from the ministry of defense this evening his government's full control of the ministries of defense, martyrs' affairs and labour.
The SG also captured the ministry of higher education in Tajoura district later last month.
There were no reactions from the UN-proposed government to the takeover.
Khalifa Al-Ghawiel is also expected to inaugurate the reconstructed Tripoli International Airport next month.
Last October, the General National Congress and salvation government recaptured the parliament building in Rixos from the High Council of State.
