The Foreign Minister of the UN-proposed government, Mohammed Sayala, issued the ordinance No.38 for 2016 appointing 66 embassy employees distributed on four continents and divided into security attachés and security communication officials.

The ordinance was issued by Sayala on December 01 last year but has gone viral on social media and local media outlets today.

This strange step comes two months after Sayala had announced a downsizing policy in all of Libya’s embassies overseas by 55% “because we want to save the Libyan money and decrease the number of embassy employees,” he said then.

The Education Minister of the UN-proposed government issued on September 01 last year an ordinance that sends 85 attachés to work abroad including three of his siblings, however, his ordinance was met with strong criticism, which made him cancel it on November 03, 2016.
