A four-story residential building in Janzour, west of the capital Tripoli, collapsed on Thursday night, leaving dead and wounded.
According to the Emergency Medicine and Support Center, 7 dead and 10 injured were recovered, in addition to rescuing two others who were alive as a result of the incident.
The center explained in a statement that all the victims were foreign workers, noting that these statistics are preliminary, and that it will publish the final statistics after communicating with the relevant authorities.
For his part, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, announced during a speech from the site of the incident that he assigned the Ministry of Interior to investigate the building collapse, stressing the need to take retribution in the incident.
Dbeibah pointed out that the building was newly constructed, not dilapidated, and that its collapse is considered a crime due to violating building standards.
