The Prime Minister of the Salvation Government, Khalifa Al-Ghweil, ordered Monday to form a security room under the name “securing the west coast room”, pointing out that the aim of the formation is to secure the coastal road from the western entrance of Tripoli to the Ras Ijdir border with Tunisia.

The PM’s ordinance stated that the SG will provide proper coordination and equipment to facilitate the room’s duties, highlighting that the room is directly supervised by PM Al-Ghweil along with representatives from the Libyan army, the Central Security Department, Information Department, General Intelligence Bureau, and General Investigations Bureau.

The road between Tripoli and Al-Zawiya has become extremely dangerous. Gangsters affiliated to the so-called Tribes Army usually make fake checkpoints on the highway to rob passers-by and abduct others for ransom.
