The Prime Minister of the Salvation Government, Khalifa Al-Ghweil, delivered a statement Tuesday saying that what is happening in Libya today is beyond the worst expectations and Libya is now threatened to lose its sovereignty as long as the current political division remains unsettled.

“We appreciate the role of the United Nations and the international community in backing up the Libyan dialogue by the legitimate agencies it has in Libya to form a comprehensive political solution that makes all Libyans rally around it.” Al-Ghweil indicated.

PM Al-Ghweil also added that the SG is in favor of the international legitimacy in line of maintaining the sovereignty of Libya, promising that the SG will not hinder any agreement that would be approved by all the Libyans without exception or elimination.

“What is taking place today in Tunisia is mere randomness by some groups that called themselves (Presidential Council), which showed how divided they are regarding the power sharing and the desire of taking personal interests from their positions, so they have no interest in serving the country, yet we urge them to be wise and come back and hand this issue to those responsible for the dialogue to save the country from division.” Elaborated Al-Ghweil.

Al-Ghweil warned that cross-border terrorists and extremists are gasping to gain a foothold in Libya, so all must be ready to fight them away from the country, pointing that Libya will never be dependent on individuals, parties, or groups, but it will be ruled by all Libyans.

“We will not accept the opinions and ideas that are forced upon us or handed to us ready-made, and we urge that we all go back to a constitution that would be endorsed by all Libyans.” Concluded PM Al-Ghweil.
