The head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, received the UK Deputy Head of Mission in Libya Katherine Wilde at his office on Sunday.

The two sides reviewed the contract signed with the British International Accounting Office (RSM) to review Libyan investments in the UK, besides a second contract that allows the same office to audit projects in the oil sector.

A statement by the Audit Bureau said the step is part of its endeavor to achieve efficient control over public funds.

Moreover, they debated the British debts owed to the Libyan state, payment procedures, and the Audit Bureau's role in following up on this file.

Shakshak stressed the importance of international cooperation in developing oversight work in line with global standards to ensure transparency and accountability.
