HoR speaker

A number of social representatives of Souq Al-Jumua announced their rejection of the visit of the city's Social Council, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor to the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh.

This came in a statement that included the Council of Elders and Notables of Souq Al-Jumua, the Association of Families of Martyrs, Wounded and Missing Persons, the Free and Honorable Youth Movement of Souq Al-Jumua and the area's revolutionaries.

They also expressed their extreme disapproval and strong condemnation of what the Social Council did in terms of direct communication with Saleh, who, in his capacity as HoR Speaker "bears the responsibility of supporting the ignition of war that claimed the lives of many people from Souq Al-Jumua and plunged the region into a spiral of war and destruction.

The statement added that any step that would normalize relations with those responsible and involved in these tragedies without holding them accountable or bringing them to justice is considered a betrayal of the blood of the martyrs and the sacrifices of the heroes. It called on the Social Council to end communication with those who were the cause of suffering and pain.

The statement also called on all political, social and military components of Souq Al-Jumua to unite and stand against any attempts to get closer to those who caused the war and work toward achieving justice.
