The White River Court in South Africa has decided to withdraw the case against the 95 Libyans detained in the illegal Mpumalanga military training camp.
According to African media, the court withdrew the immigration law violation charge against the Libyans and referred them to the Ministry of Home Affairs to deal with the case administratively.
The court decided to appeal the case of the 95 detained Libyans based on an urgent request from their legal representatives.
According to media, the spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority in Mpumalanga presented the detainees to the court on Thursday morning to consider their case related to their violation of immigration laws.
The court adjourned the case of the detainees until August 26 after they appeared on August 6 to consult with their lawyers and allow for further investigation.
The 95 Libyans faced immigration law violations charges after they were arrested at a suspected military training camp in the South African city of Mpumalanga. The police activated the ProvJoints Regional Operations and Intelligence Structure two days before the arrest, after receiving intelligence information about the suspected camp, noting that the site was raided in cooperation with intelligence and officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, according to a police spokesman.
