‎Spain's ambassador to Libya, Javier Soria, confirmed that his country will continue to support Libya, stressing Spain's keenness to support the United Nations mission.

This came during a meeting between the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, Youssef Al-Agouri, and the Spanish ambassador to Libya at the headquarters of the House of Representatives in Benghazi to discuss the latest political and economic developments in the country and joint cooperation programs.

Al-Agouri stressed Spain's role in supporting Libya's stability, noting that there is a close link between the security and stability of Libya and Spain by urging the European Union to play a greater role in preventing foreign interference in Libya and achieving the people's aspirations for democracy and choosing their representatives through free and fair elections.

Regarding the immigration file, Al-Agouri stressed the need for joint coordination between Libya and the European Union to confront the unprecedented immigration flows that have become a major challenge for all. He explained that the House of Representatives carried out its duties and issued the laws for parliamentary and presidential elections as well as the referendum on the constitution.

Al-Agouri reiterated the position of the House of Representatives that all foreign forces and mercenaries must leave Libyan territory, as the two sides agreed to continue coordination and dialogue on various issues to enhance joint work in a way that brings stability and prosperity to the Libyan people.
