Armed brigades from Tajoura neighbourhood has called for calm in Tripoli, as tension over the UN-imposed government increases.

In a statement on Sunday, the brigades urged the UN envoy Martin Kobler to respect the sovereignty of Libya and the choices of the people, a clear sign of their rejection to his efforts to install the UN-imposed government in the capital.

"We reject any call that undermines security in Tripoli," the brigades said.

"We call for calm and unity to avoid sliding into problems." The statement said.

Tajoura is one of Tripoli neighbourhood that harbours the most powerful armed brigades in the capital. Haitem Al-Tajouri, commander of Tripoli Revolutionary Brigade is a citizen of this neighbourhood.
