Mohamed Takala, in his capacity as rival Head of the High Council of State (HCS), announced his rejection of the meeting held in Morocco, which included members of the HCS and the House of Representatives (HoR), considering that the participants did not officially represent the HCS.
Takala said that Libya's Foreign Ministry should address the Moroccan Foreign Ministry to avoid any meetings or discussions that are not coordinated with the elected presidency of the HCS, indicating the existence of an internal division and political exploitation of the situation.
Representatives of the HoR and HCS, including the rival Head of the HCS Khalid Al-Mishri, agreed to form a unified government and form committees to resolve controversial issues in the security, financial and economic fields, during a meeting in the Moroccan city of Bouznika.
The meeting was a breakaway from the path that the UN mission seeks to follow in order to revitalize the political process in Libya and push all political parties to participate in it, with the aim of leading the country toward elections.
