Takala

‎The Head of the High Council of State, Mohammed Takala, welcomed the ruling of the South Tripoli Court of Appeal, which ruled to invalidate the membership of Abdel Salam Ghuwaila from the date of his assumption of the position of Minister of Sports in the parallel government.

Takala confirmed during a press conference that this ruling entails the invalidity of the voting session for the presidency of the council, as Ghuwaila was one of the voters in the session.

Takala also announced that a session of the High Council of State will be held next Monday in the conference hall at the Rixos Complex in Tripoli. He called on all local institutions, embassies and diplomatic missions to respect the judiciary and deal with him as the Head of the High Council of State.

He also indicated that the presidency office will work to create an appropriate environment for the presidency office elections process by communicating with most members to achieve consensus.

The candidate for the presidency of the High Council of State, Khalid Al-Mishri, said that he had actually started to exercise the duties of the Head and that members would be invited next week to a session to complete the presidency of the council to elect the first and second deputies and the rapporteur.
