The Tarhouna Victims Association condemned the return of members of the Al-Kani family to the city, rejecting any attempt to evade punishment under any pretext.

The Association considered in a statement that this step is a danger and provocation to the families of the victims as well as a disregard for the blood of children, women men and the elderly who died because of Al-Kaniyat.

It confirmed that the return of members of the Al-Kani family on Monday raised great concerns among the families of the victims, the missing and the victims of the mass graves in Tarhouna and neighboring cities.

It called on the Attorney General and the Military Prosecutor to open an urgent investigation and refer all those who contributed to the return of Al-Kani family members or provided them with guarantees for their return to justice.

The Association also called on the UN mission, the Human Rights Office and the International Criminal Court to announce the arrest warrants issued against the criminals and work to implement them so that they receive their punishment.

It stressed that they "do not accept anyone who claims that they have no connection to what has happened except after handing over the criminals from their family members to justice." It pointed out that removing these families from the city is better for them and for societal peace.
