Tarhouna Victims Association announced launching a campaign to end impunity, which prevents criminals from standing before justice and encourages them to commit more violations.
The Association explained in a statement that impunity gives criminals an undeserved opportunity to evade their responsibility, which encourages them to commit more violations and become an example for those who wish to commit any crime, deprives victims and their relatives of the right to justice, prolongs the effects of the crime at all levels, and delays effective redress.
It called on civil society organizations, human rights organizations, the National Council for Public Liberties and Human Rights, bar associations, authorities of families of martyrs and missing persons, human rights activists and defenders to participate in this campaign.
The Association also urged officials to take the necessary measures to ensure the prosecution of those involved in serious crimes and to urge armed groups to hand over their wanted members to justice and not to accept those wanted by justice within their forces.
