Hanna Tetteh

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, Hanna Tetteh, will deliver a periodic briefing before the UN Security Council this April, addressing the political, security, and humanitarian situation in Libya as well as the latest developments.

In the same session, the head of the Sanctions Committee established under Resolution 1970 on Libya is also expected to brief the Council on the committee’s activities.

It is worth noting that a head for the Sanctions Committee has not yet been appointed, as Security Council members continue discussions on the allocation of subsidiary bodies for this year, according to the Security Council Report website.

The upcoming April briefing will offer Council members an opportunity to review ongoing preparations for implementing the renewed mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya to facilitate dialogue among political parties, as well as to examine the work of the advisory committee.
