A meeting by the Tobruk-based House of Representatives is expected to take place on Monday in the presence of the MPs who are at odds with the Speaker of the HoR - on top of them, the Deputy Speaker, Imhemid Shuaib, as well as Ehmaid Huma.
According to the letter sent by the Speaker of the HoR, Aqilah Saleh, to the members, the meeting will be held to endorse the constitutional declaration and the UN-proposed government headed by Fayez Al-Sirraj.
On last Wednesday, Saleh urged the HoR members to attend today’s meeting so that a vote of confidence is carried out to approve the constitutional declaration and the UN-proposed government, not to mention that the newly-appointed spokesman of the HoR, Abdullah Blehig, quoted Saleh as saying that “All members who fail to attend the meeting will bear the national and moral responsibility of their actions because all must prioritize Libya’s interests to every other thing in the world.”
It is noteworthy that the HoR has been failing to convene a full quorum meeting so that it can discuss whether or not to endorse the UN-proposed government since that government was formed in last February.
