A Tobruk Parliament MP has denied signing any lists to support the UN-imposed government, saying his stance toward this government would be taken under the parliament's dome.

Speaking to Cairo-based newspaper of Alwasat, Osama Al-Shaafi said he was in the intensive care unit in Tunisia suffering from a car accident injury when a list of names of 100 MPs, including his, was published.

"I am not part of that list and I don't know who signed on behalf of me," he confirms.

A statement claimed to be signed by 100 Tobruk MPs to back the UN-imposed government was published after Tobruk Parliament failed to give it a vote of confidence. The statement was welcomed by UN chief in Libya Martin Kobler and some western countries.

Early this week, Tobruk MP Ibrahim Zaghaid confirmed that the statement was a forgery.
