The Tripoli Protection Force (TPF) denied on Friday claims that the Eighth Brigade (Nawasi) had kidnapped citizens on identity from Mitiga International Airport, confirming that Nawasi does not secure the Airport or its surrounding areas.
TPF called in a statement the concerned authorities to urgently investigate this incident, saying it will seek legal measure against those who spread the “rumours”.
The statement of the TPF comes after the Ministry of Interior condemnation of the arrest of citizens coming from the eastern region via Benina Airport to Mitiga International Airport.
A group of citizens from eastern Libya were arrested in Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport on charges of taking part in the attack on Tripoli. No one has claimed responsibility for their detention.
