Libya’s Minister of Transport, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, has inaugurated an extraordinary session of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization (ACAO) in the Moroccan capital.
The high-level gathering on Thursday was attended by transport ministers from Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, along with delegations from other Arab League member states.
Key discussions centred on coordinating Arab nominations for the Executive Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ahead of its upcoming General Assembly meeting scheduled for the end of September.
In his opening remarks, Al-Shahoubi stressed the need for unified Arab positions and enhanced cooperation to ensure strong representation within ICAO’s decision-making body. He said such efforts would strengthen the Arab presence in global aviation governance and help boost civil aviation development across the region.
