Ahmed Nashad, the lawyer of Abdullah Al-Senussi, the head of the intelligence service in the Gaddafi regime, confirmed that his client's trial was postponed on Sunday until December 1.
Nashad explained to the media that the trial was postponed to complete the pleadings, and that he expected the postponement to be more than once due to the absence of about 70 defendants, most of whom are outside the country, and if they fail to attend, the court would rule in absentia.
Nashad added that he did not speak with Al-Senussi, despite the judge's approval of the interview via satellite; saying, "I want to meet him face to face."
Meanwhile Mustafa Al-Majdoub, the legal advisor to the Abu Salim Prison Victims Association, said that the trial session witnessed the presence of the defendant Al-Senussi and other defendants for the first time, via satellite. He explained that the judge approved Al-Senussi's request to meet with his lawyer and speak with him.
Al-Majdoub indicated that Al-Senussi requested that all 86 defendants, most of whom are outside the country, be brought in, with the exception of four defendants who are in detention.
