Clashes broke out in southern Sobratha early on Friday when an armed group loyal to the so-called Tribes Army tried to attack Sobratha through Alajilat, in violation to the truce agreement signed on Wednesday between Zintan and Al-Rijban on one hand and Sobratha, Surman, and Al-Ajilat on the other.

The group retreated under the heavy fire of Libya Dawn forces from Sobratha and Alajilat, leaving some of their military vehicles behind.

Both Zintan and Al-Rijban, which are seen as key allies to the Tribe Army, denied involvement in the attack.
