The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Raisedon Zeninga, received a delegation of Tuareg notables and civil society representatives on Sunday to listen to their concerns and views on the country's future.

According to the UNSMIL, the delegation expressed support for the UN mission's head initiative and called for elections without further delay.

They also stressed the importance of including the cultural components in the political process and guaranteeing equal representation of the South in Libyan institutions.

Among the topics discussed were the rights of the "cultural components" in the south and women's representation in Parliament, as they demanded a 30 percent quota for women in the House.

The UNSMIL said that Zeninga assured the delegation of the mission's support to relay and amplify their messages to Libyan leaders and relevant institutions.
