The Algerian Foreign Minister, Sabri Boukadoum, agreed during his meeting with Tunisian officials on Monday to advance the Libyan political track with the aim of establishing a comprehensive and constructive dialogue between the Libyans themselves.

Boukadoum said in a statement after his meeting with the Tunisian President, Kais Saied, at the Carthage Palace, that he had heard the Tunisian officials’ point of views about the situation in the region and the challenges it poses, especially the situation in Libya.

Saied and Boukadoum confirmed during the meeting the identical views of the two countries on a number of regional and international issues, including the situation in Libya, reaffirming the principled position of the two countries in supporting a peaceful and consensual solution in managing this crisis, and the need to reach a comprehensive and lasting political agreement between the Libyans themselves.

They also stressed the adherence of Tunisia and Algeria to the unity, stability and sovereignty of Libya.
