Tunisia has voiced deep concern over escalating security tensions in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, and has renewed calls for an immediate de-escalation across the country.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tunisia urged all parties to halt violence, refrain from using weapons, and prioritize dialogue as the only path to resolving political and security disputes in Libya.

The ministry emphasized the importance of placing national interest above factional divisions and called for consensus among Libyan factions to enable a UN-led political process.

“Tunisia stands ready to serve as a platform for direct Libyan-Libyan dialogue under the auspices of the United Nations,” the statement said.

The proposed dialogue aims to pave the way toward national elections and the establishment of unified state institutions—an outcome seen as essential to safeguarding Libya’s sovereignty, stability, and the rights of all its citizens.
