Turkey has denied news about the ship attacked in Libya being loaded with weapons taken to Derna.

The spokesperson of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tanju Bilgiç, said in a press conference yesterday, that the ship was on the way to Tobruk and Beirut ports successively with an identified shipment on deck.

He also indicted that there are official documents registered in Spain, from where the ship took off, which prove that Tobruk and Beirut are the ship’s final destination, pointing out that the information given by Tobruk government are nothing but a justification for the attack.

Bilgiç concluded by describing the air strikes and other assaults on the civilian ships under the pretext of fighting terrorism as unacceptable.
