The Turkish Foreign Ministry said Friday it had refused during Berlin 2 conference on Libya equating its trainers and advisors with mercenaries.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tango Bilgic conveyed the ministry's statement at a press conference in Ankara, following the Berlin Conference that concluded in Germany on Wednesday.

Bilgic touched on the political process in Libya and confirmed that they reached understandings on essential elements at the Berlin Conference, but added, "We expressed our reservations about some items that contradict the facts on the ground."

"We underscored that we will not allow questioning about our trainers and advisors in Libya in regional and international forums, or to equate them with illegal mercenaries; therefore, we made our reservations about a clause in the final statement."
