The Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Army, Metin Gürak, delivered a message from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Head of the Presidential Council Mohammed Menfi, according to what was announced by the Media Office of the Menfi.
Menfi received Gürak at the Presidential Council headquarters in Tripoli on Sunday with his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Chief of General Staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad.
Menfi's media office said that the Turkish Chief of Staff conveyed a message from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the beginning of the meeting, stressing the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries and continuing to work to strengthen and develop them in various fields. The media office added that Menfi discussed with the Turkish military delegation the most important issues and topics of joint interest.
This is the first visit of the Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Army to Libya since he took office in August 2023, succeeding Yaşar Güler, whom Erdogan appointed as Minister of Defense in the new government in June, after he was elected for a new 5-year presidential term.
