Turkish visa for Libyan nationals will start processing from the capital Tripoli, the Consular Section of the Turkish Embassy announced on Thursday, after more than a year of processing the visa from its consulate in Misrata.

In a statement, the Embassy said it will start accepting visa applications from Thursday, April 13, a step that would alleviate early morning line-ups at Misrata consulate.

Turkey is the best destination for thousands of Libyan travellers for business, treatment and tourism.

Turkey imposed visa on Libyan nationals in August 2015. Two months later, it started accepting visa applications from its Misrata consulate.

The Turkish Embassy in Tripoli was reopened in January 2017 after about two and a half years of closure.
