Two Dignity Operation fighters were killed and four others wounded on Wednesday in an apparent ISIS attack on a military checkpoint south of the eastern town of Ajdabiya.

Local sources said gunmen launched a surprise attack on checkpoint 60 southwest of Ajdabiya at dawn, killing two guards of Brigade 152 in an exchange of fire.

The attackers also set the checkpoint on fire before escaping, the parallel Libyan News Agency (LANA) reported.

The two fighters were identified as Muftah Al-Alawi and Ahmed Abu Ras.

Bawabt Alwast news website quoted a security source as saying that one of the victims was beheaded by the attackers.
