Gunmen, believed to be linked to ISIS, attacked Ghadduwah town in southern Sabha in the Libyan south on Thursday, killing two and kidnapping a third person then left after burning several houses.

Local sources from the desert town said residents had clashes with the gunmen before the latter killed two and abducted a third then fled the town.

The sources also reported a relative calm in the town after the incident.

Ghadduwah town saw an ISIS attack on March 25, 2019, killing one person and kidnapping three after exchanging gunfire with the residents.

ISIS militants later published a video showing the execution of the three kidnapped persons from the town.

In the meantime, the Libyan Interior Ministry of the Presidential Council's government condemned the attack in statement, saying there can be no tolerance for such cowardly criminal acts that aim to destabilize Libya, vowing to bring down criminals and punish them by the rule of law.
