Libya's Harouge Oil Operations Company said Tank No.2, which was set on fire on Sunday due to the fact that Tank No.12 was ablaze, had been completely demolished amid fighting in the oil crescent.
"Two of the five tanks have been thus lost after the breaking of clashes since last Thursday." The company said.
It added that the two destroyed tanks were loaded with over 400.000 barrels of crude oil.
Libya's National Oil Corporation NOC confirmed earlier the loss of Tanks No.2 and 12 in Ras Lanuf oil terminal and the drop in storage capacity from 950.000 to 550.000 oil barrels.
"Five tanks were operating before Jodran's attacks on the ports, after Tank No.2 was burnt, fire could break into 1, 3, and 6 and thus halt all of the port's exportation." NOC indicated.
It also reiterated the fear for an environmental distorter happening in the oil crescent region and thus destroying the infrastructure, which could keep the port nonoperational even if the fighting ended.
"Jodran's militias and his allied gangs should unconditionally and immediately leave the oil terminals and help the firemen reach the burning tanks to save what's left of Libyans' resources." The NOC added.
Since Thursday, clashes have been ongoing between forces led by the former Head of the Petroleum Facilities Guard Ibrahim Jodran and the forces of Khalifa Haftar's self-styled army, leading to the former's control of Sidra and Ras Lanuf oil terminals.
