Civil Aviation Authority

A delegation from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority arrived in the capital, Tripoli, on an inspection mission to ensure that the procedures followed in civil aviation security in Libya comply with international standards and regulations.

The Emirati delegation, which was received by the head of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority, conducted field visits to the airports of Mitiga, Benina and Misrata.

The head of the delegation expressed his appreciation for the level of security procedures, and the availability of work and operating manuals and references according to the approved standards.

The delegation's report, which will be submitted after the end of its visit, is a key factor in the decision to resume flights of Emirati airlines to Libyan airports.

The delegation's mission comes days after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to lift restrictions on air traffic, encourage airlines from both sides to operate their flights and provide more options and alternatives for travelers.
