The acting UN Envoy, Stephanie Koury, held consultations with ambassadors and defence attachés, who participated in the Security Working Group, according to the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
The discussions come as preparations are underway for the upcoming Security Working Group meeting scheduled for October 17 in Sirte.
Participants emphasized the urgent need to support the efforts of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission in effectively carrying out its mandate, particularly in strengthening the ceasefire agreement.
The attendees expressed hope for productive exchanges during the Sirte meeting, aiming to bolster stability and peace in Libya.
The Security Working Group was established as part of the Berlin Process on Libya, a multilateral effort led by the UN to reach a consensus among international stakeholders and provide an international framework for Libyan-led discussions on the country’s future.
