The Head of the UNSMIL and his deputy for political affairs, Ghassan Salame and Stephanie Williams successively, met in Tripoli on Tuesday with the Head of the Presidential Council (PC) Fayez Al-Sirrja.

The officials talked about the attack on the Libyan National Oil Corporation as Salame and Willams extended their condolences for the families of the victims, saying all Libyans should unite in the fight against terror.

They also talked about the ceasefire agreement that put to calm the recent violence in southern Tripoli.

The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) published Monday on its website the terms of the ceasefire it had brokered on September 04.

The terms were eight and included developing a monitoring and verification mechanism to consolidate the ceasefire under the oversight and guidance of the Joint Operations Centre.

Meanwhile, the Seventh (7th) Brigade - A.K.A. Kanyat Brigade - issued a televised statement on Tuesday hinting at renewing the fighting in Tripoli.

It called on Libyans to join its forces in its war on "militias and the ISIS of public funds."

"We will continue our operations till we end crime and armed gangs because the rule of the law for the state is the most important factor in a country and so is regaining the vitality of military, security, economic and service institutions." The brigade said, saying it will keep on fighting til the last man standing.

The statement, which resembles a declaration of new episode of clashes according to some observers, comes a day after the UNSMIL had published the terms of the ceasefire.
