‎United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Rosemary DiCarlo, intends to visit Libya from Sunday to Wednesday to meet with "key stakeholders."

A statement issued by the United Nations on Friday explained that DiCarlo will discuss ways to support Libyan and international efforts to revitalize the political process, with the aim of restoring peace, stability and unity in Libya.

The visit comes at a time when the UN mission is seeking to find a solution to the crisis of managing the Central Bank of Libya, as the mission sponsored separate meetings last week for representatives of the House of Representatives, the High Council of State and the Presidential Council, and ended with the House of Representatives and High Council of State's representatives requesting an additional five-day period, ending next Monday to complete consultations on the status of the Central Bank of Libya.

The representatives of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State reaffirmed their commitment to the understandings reached during the meetings held last Monday and Tuesday, indicating that all necessary measures would be taken to appoint a governor and a board of directors for the CBL within 30 days of the agreement.

The understandings were signed by the member of the House of Representatives, Al-Hadi Al-Saghir, and the member of the State Council, Abdul Jalil Al-Shawish. Meanwhile, the dismissed governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, described the decision to remove him from his position in statements to the American newspaper Politico, as a "coup attempt", while renewing his hopes of returning to Libya, saying: "I see a safe path home after the coup attempt."
