The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced the expansion of its response to Sudanese refugees arriving in Libya, following the increasing humanitarian needs coinciding with the rise in numbers and the drop in temperature.
There is a need for additional support from the international community to enhance access to food, clean water, health and education, according to UNHCR.
The UNHCR called on the international community to provide decisive support to the humanitarian efforts made by Libya to assist Sudanese refugees, especially the health centers in Kufra.
The Commission also confirmed its efforts to raise 22 million US dollars to meet the needs of approximately 450,000 refugees and the host community by the end of next year.
