UNSMIL Coordinator, Raisedon Zenenga, reiterated UNSMIL’s commitment to support Libyans in achieving elections that are timely, credible and inclusive, in line with the Libyan political roadmap and relevant Security Council resolutions, and which will yield stability for Libya.

Zenenga's remarks came in virtual consultations Sunday with a diverse group of civil society representatives from all parts of Libya, according to UNSMIL, which added that the participants shared their perspectives on elections, with a common message that the goal for the elections should be to deliver stability and to enable the country to emerge out of recurrent political crises.

"Many stressed the need to secure acceptance of the results by all actors. Zenenga welcomed participants’ engagement with UNSMIL and underscored the important role of civil society in contributing to a stable, peaceful and democratic Libya." UNSMIL added.
