The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Libya, Georgette Gagnon, co-chaired the annual meeting of UNSDCF Steering Committee with Minister of Planning, UN agencies, government ministries and institutions.
"We reflected on our joint actions and results in UNSDCF implementation drawing valuable lessons and recommendations for work in 2024-25." Gagnon said on X.
She added that they all needed to accelerate their efforts to implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, saying that youth and climate change were key focuses in 2024-25.
"We are committed to empowering young people across Libya and tackling challenges of climate change, ensuring a sustainable future for all." Gagnon added.
She indicated that their shared commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals in Libya remained unwavering.
"Government’s financing for sustainable development, including through the Cooperation Framework, is crucial. We continue to mobilize resources to advance the SDGs for all people in Libya." She indicated.
